Project Description

Palatine Mass Lesion?

Case Presentation:

An infant of 8 months was referred by his pediatrician to our childrens emergency departement for further evaluation: He had a mass lesion on his bony palate, which had only been seen by the parents a few days ago. Hence dynamics of possible growth were unclear.
The otherwise healthy boy was in a good general state, there were no other symptoms and his drinking behavior had not changed.
On examination, which was moderately tolerated, we found a round mass lesion, approx. 2cm in diameter, with a glassy appearance, which was hard on palpation and not relocatable. The rest of the child’s clinical examination was without any pathological findings. There were no abnormal lab findings neither (whole blood count, inflammatory and cytolytic parameters).
