Project Description

What's wrong with this toe?

Case presentation

A three year old girl was referred to our emergency department for a second opinion. Four days prior, a heavy object fell on her big toe. An xray was performed, a fracture diagnosed and the broken big toe was taped to the neighbour toe. Meanwhile the girl was able to walk and jump, sometimes she complained that her toe was hurting. The pediatrician asked us to evaluate the xray.

The girl was in best general condition, her big toe (phalanges) a little swollen but she was able to walk normally.
